Melbourne Storm v Newcastle Knights. AAMI Park, Friday June 2, 6pm AEST
Top of the ladder takes on the bottom this weekend as the Storm host the Knights. Newcastle find themselves in trouble again this season after only managing two wins so far. They have struggled, in particularly in the second half of matches when a lack of experience and leadership has let them down. Any drop offs in 80 minutes against the Storm in Melbourne will undoubtedly be punished. They stand at $5.85 with William Hill to claim an unlikely win.
The Storm are flying high in 1st place having lost only two games all season. They have even had the luxury to experiment with player positioning as Cameron Munster has been brought into five-eighth. Somewhere he has excelled in recent matches. Melbourne are heavy favourites with William Hill, priced at $1.14 but will need to maintain their own form if they aren’t to slip to a surprise loss.
Bet of the Match: Melbourne to Win by 13+ points at $1.62
WATCH: Our Preview of the NRL Round 13
Roosters v Broncos, Allianz Stadium, Saturday June 3, 5:30pm AEST
The Roosters and Broncos both head into this match on the back of losses in Round 12. Brisbane were outclassed in New Zealand as the Warriors took their chances against a Broncos side missing their Origin stars. The Roosters, themselves missing key players, went down in Canberra to the Raiders. This match could have a huge say in which of these sides finishes in the top four. They currently sit 4th and 5th and a win here would cement their place. With home advantage the Roosters have the edge over the Broncos with William Hill as they are priced at $1.65, compared to Brisbane who are at $2.28. Any points picked up during Origin are extremely crucial especially with both these sides having several players in action. Also, be aware that the market could change depending on who backs up from Wednesday.
Bet of the Match: Sydney to Win by 1-12 points at $2.90
Cowboys v Titans, 1300Smilles Stadium, Saturday June 3, 7:30pm AEST
North Queensland and Gold Coast meet this weekend in all Queensland clash. With a resurgent Titans only two points away from the top eight and only four points behind their rivals in this clash. Having won three games out of their last four, the Titans have been in impressive form and could pose a serious threat to the Cowboys. After incredible wins over the Storm and Sharks, the Cowboys will be the next scalp in the sights of the Titans. They stand as underdogs with William Hill at $2.70.
North Queensland have had a rollercoaster ride of a last few matches with big wins against the Bulldogs, and Knights but these came alongside losses to the Dragons, Eels, Sharks and Tigers. The last time they played at home, they went down to the Eels and they will be looking for a much better performance against the Titans. With the home faithful behind them, it’s hard to see past the Cowboys priced at $1.48.
