Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals Preview

This is a battle for first place among teams that are projected to finish at the bottom of their division. The Cleveland Indians will send righty Justin Masterson to the mound with his 3-0 record and 1.33 ERA. He has pitched just over 20 innings this year and has walked only four batters. In his last outing he pitched seven innings and gave up one run to defeat the Orioles.  The Royals place Luke Hochevar on the hill to fight for first place in the American League Central Division. Hochevar is 2-1 on the year with a 4.21 ERA. He has won his last two starts and finished the last game by getting out 19 of the last 20 batters he faced. The Royals hope to get the game to their closer Joakim Soria to finish it out. Our pick from the odds at Iasbet is the Indians 1.92 for the win.

Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers Preview

The Angels send Jered Weaver out on the hill for this match-up with Texas. Weaver has been very good this year with a 4-0 record and a stellar 1.30 ERA. Last year he faced the Rangers six times and was 3-1 with a 3.52 ERA against them. The only batter that Weaver has had problems with in the Rangers lineup is Mitch Moreland who has two home runs and is 3 for 8 vs. him. Texas puts southpaw Matt Harrison on the hill with a 1.23 ERA and a perfect 3-0 record. He has won his last two starts over the Yankees and Orioles and looks for his fourth win. In his career he is 1-1 and has a 2.16 ERA against the Angels. However, they have a robust .311 batting average against him. Checking the odds at Iasbet the Angels are 2.07 and our pick to win.
Florida Marlins at Pittsburgh Pirates Preview

This is another battle of unbeaten pitchers. Florida slates Ricly Nolasco to the mound with a 4.05 ERA and a perfect 1-0 record. He started well in his first two starts but struggled to a no decision in the game with the Braves. He gave up six hits and five runs in five innings of work. Lifetime he is 3-3 along with a 2.11 ERA against the Pittsburgh squad. Charlie Morton climbs the hill for the Pirates and has been a big surprise so far this year. He pitched a complete game vs. the Cincinnati Reds last week where he walked two and gave up five hits. In his career he has a 2-2 record with a 4.00 ERA in five starts. One batter from Florida that has not touched him is Hanley Ramirez and his 0-10 batting. The odds courtesy of Iasbet finds Florida 1.63. With our free pick the bet is on Florida for the win.
