Game: Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat
Date/Time: Tuesday April 12th, 2011 / 10:00am AEST
The Miami Heat will head to the Phillips Arena in the heart of the South and take on the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat and Hawks are both going to the postseason, but Miami is still unsure as to what their seed will be. The Hawks are the fifth seed, and will certainly start the postseason in orlando against the Magic. Miami has beaten Atlanta two out of three times this season; with the last one coming on March 18th.
Atlanta Hawks Overview:
The Atlanta Hawks are having all sorts of problems as the regular season comes to a close. The Hawks were downed in Washington Saturday night by 32 points to bring up many concerns for Atlanta. The Hawks are having all sorts of problems scoring points; as they rank 27th in the league with 95.2 points per game. Joe Johnson is the leading scorer for the Hawks; with 18.6 points per game, while big man Al Horford is grabbing just shy of 10 rebounds per game.
Atlanta won 53 games last season; therefore this season has been a bit of a disappointment. THe Hawks did get good news at the All Star break when both Johnson and Horford were picked to the Eastern Conference All Star team. Atlanta will then finish their regular season at Charlotte on Wednesday night.
Miami Heat Overview:
It has been a very emotional season for the Miami Heat. After garnering Chris Bosh and LeBron James to go along with Dwyane Wade, Miami started the season very slow. The Heat then picked up sting, but have not been very successful against the best teams in the league. The Heat recently were downed by Cleveland; showing their inconsistency.
The Heat are led in scoring by LeBron James and his 26.6 points per game. Chris Bosh is grabbing nearly 9 rebounds per game for Miami as well. The Heat are scoring 102.2 points per game, which ranks 8th in the league. Defensively, the Heat are allowing 95.1 points per game; which is 8th.
This game will be fun to watch, because both teams will want to show they can win games right before the postseason. Atlanta is begging to get back to their winning ways, while the Heat need wins to keep that #2 seed ahead of Boston. Miami is listed at -5.5, and we are pretty sure in our pick that they will win the game and cover the spread.
Our pick: Miami Heat -5.5. Bet the Heat at Sportingbet!
