In the National Basketball Association, the Miami Heat will host the Orlando Magic in a battle of two solid Eastern Conference teams. The Heat lead the Southeast Division by 4.5 games over the Magic. Both teams appear to be heading towards the postseason as the Heat currently have the second best record and the Magic fourth in the Eastern Conference.
These two teams have played three times this season with the Heat winning two of the first three. On October 29th the Heat won 96-7o at home. Then in November, the Magic won in Orlando by 9, despite 25 from LeBron James. The last time they played, Miami came away with a 104-100 win in Orlando behind 51 from King James.
Miami Heat Overview
The Heat are hot on the tails of the Boston Celtics, while the Chicago Bulls push them from behind. Miami took a loss on Sunday to Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and the Knicks. The Heat are scoring 102 points per game and allowing 94.4 points per game. LeBron James is scoring 26.2 points per game, while big man Chris Bosh is ripping down 8.2 rebounds per game. The Heat have struggled passing the basketball, as they are the second worst assist team in the league.
The Hat are just four wins away from matching their win total from the 2009-2010 season. Miami is also just three seasons removed from winning a league low 15 games. The Heat have back-to-back tough games, as they will head to San Antonio on Friday.
Orlando Magic Overview
Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic picked up a win over the Knicks on Tuesday night. The win pushed them a bit closer to catching Miami, and also in the race between them and Atlanta for the fourth spot. Howard scored 30 points and ripped down 16 rebounds in the win. On the season, Superman is scoring 23.3 points per game, and also 13.9 rebounds per game.
The Magic rank as the 11th highest scoring team in the league, with 100.3 points per game. Defensively, Orlando is allowing 94.3, which is fifth in the league. Orlando will also face another stiff test on Friday, as they come back home and host the red-hot Chicago Bulls.
This game will be fun. Gilbert Arenas, Dwight Howard, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all on the same floor. These two teams have had heated battles before, and will do it again. This is a very good possibility as an Eastern Conference finals game. But, in the same sentence, there is a chance neither team gets to the conference finals.
We look for the Heat to come out with a little swagger in this game. The Heat do not like to lose at home, and would love to take 3 of 4 in the season series. We look for LeBron to be way too much for the Magic to handle. We like Miami to win this game.
Our pick: Miami Heat -5. Bet the Heat at Sportsbet.
