NBA Betting: Orlando Magic vs. Chicago Bulls Prediction

Fri, Jan 28, 1:41pm by Kevin Pitstock

The Orlando Magic head to windy and cold Chicago to take on the Bulls. Both teams appear to be well on their way to the postseason. Chicago is 31-14 and in first place in the Central Division. The Bulls hold a huge lead over Milwaukee and Indiana. Orlando is in second place in the Southeast Division, trailing the Miami Heat by just two games. If the postseason started today, the Bulls would be the third seed and Magic fourth seed. These two teams played back on December 1st with the Magic coming away with a 107-78 win over the Bulls. The two teams will meet back in Orlando on March 4th, and then at the United Center on April 10th.

Magic Overview

The Magic come into the game after a blowout win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. In the win for the Magic, Jason Richardson scored 19 points, while Dwight Howard added 16 rebounds. Howard is leading the team in both scoring and rebounding with 22 points per game and 13.4 rebounds per game. The Magic rank ninth in the NBA with 42.8 rebounds per game. Orlando is the 7th best defensive team in the league; yielding 94.6 points per game. Orlando has won 52, 59 and 59  games in their last three seasons.  Orlando is 13-10 when playing on the road and have won 20 of 28 against Eastern Conference foes.

Bulls Overview

The Chicago Bulls have won three straight games and eight of ten overall. The Bulls are led by point guard Derrick Rose and his uncanny ability to score and also dish the basketball. Rose is scoring 24.6 points per game, and also dishing out 8.1 assists per game. Rose is questionable for the game, as he has two stomach ulcers and did not practice on Thursday. Rose was elected to start for the Eastern Conference All Star team in February. The Bulls are the third best defensive team in the National Basketball Association, allowing teams to score 92.1 points per game. Chicago in their three game wining streak finished it off with a 9 point win over Milwaukee on Monday. The Bulls have been real good at home, winning 21 of 25. The Bulls are also 18-9 when playing teams from the East.

Our Tip + Prediction

We cannot wait for this game. These two teams are great defensively, and both have offensive studs. The Bulls are almost unbeatable at home, but are playing one of the few teams that have the guns to win at the United Center. If Rose somehow does not play due to his sickness – Orlando will strive and come away with the win. Look for Rose to play, and the Chicago Bulls to come away with the win. The line for the game is an even pick’em at Sporting Bet.

Our pick: Orlando (pick’em) at Sporting Bet!
