Wed, Sep 19, 11:44am by Staff Writer

Chelsea has moved to the top of the English Premier League table after a 4-1 win against Cardiff on Sunday morning (AEST).

It was the visiting Bluebirds that struck first through Sol Bamba in the 16th minute to shock the crowd at Stamford Bridge.

An Eden Hazard hat trick, completed in the 80th minute sealed the win for Chelsea, who has won five games from five so far. They are $10 to win the Premier League at Sportsbet.

Cardiff has taken two points form five games and is in 17th position. They are the favourite to be relegated at $1.36.

Liverpool has also won all five of its matches this season after a 2-1 win against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday night.

The Reds made Tottenham look second-rate for parts of the match, despite Spurs’ resurgence in the latter stages.

Goals to Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino set up the win for Liverpool. Erik Lamela scored a late consolation goal for Spurs.

Liverpool is $3 to win the Premier League. It has been a poor few weeks for Tottenham, who have dropped to sixth and are $41 to win the Premier League.

City in cruise control

Manchester City easily accounted for Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday morning. Leroy Sané scored in the second minute for the hosts as they put three goals past the Cottagers.

City remains the favourites to claim the Premier League at $1.72.

Fulham is $5 to be relegated this season and has one win from its first five games.

Mancheser United ($34) has put together consecutive away wins after a 2-1 win against the previously undefeated Watford.

The Red Devils struck twice in three minutes through Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling in the first half.

Watford replied via Andre Gray in the second half, but was unable to find a crucial equaliser.

It has been a wonderful start to the season for the Hornets, who remain in fourth spot. They are $251 to win the Premier League.

Arsenal ($67) defeated Newcastle 2-1 at St James’ Park to consign the hosts to another home loss.

Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil both scored second half goals to set up the win.

The Magpies are winless this campaign and are in 19th spot on the table. They are $4 to be relegated this season.

Bournemouth ($501) scored three goals before half-time to hammer Leicester 4-2 at Goldsands Stadium.

The Cherries were in sublime form at the weekend, with a Ryan Fraser brace and Josh King penalty sealing the result by intermission.

The return of Jamie Vardy from suspension failed to inspire Leicester, who has lost consecutive games.

Huddersfield in early trouble

Crystal Palace welcomed back Wilfred Zaha into its side and it paid dividends, with the Englishman scoring the only goal in the Eagles’ 1-0 at Huddersfield.

It will be another tough campaign for the Terriers, who narrowly avoided relegation last term. They are in 18th spot on the table, with only two points after five games.

They are $1.45 to be relegated this season.

It has been a similarly tough start for Burnley, who is at the foot of the Premier League table.

The Clarets suffered a 1-0 loss to Wolves on Sunday night, but could have lost by multiple goals, such was the home sides dominance.

Burnley is $2.10 to be relegated this season.

West Ham got its first win of the campaign with an upset 3-1 result at Goodison Park against Everton.

Andriy Yarmolenko scored two goals in the first half and the Hammers held on to win, despite a furious Toffees comeback.

West Ham is $5.50 to be relegated this season, while Everton is $501 to win the Premier League.

On Tuesday morning, Brighton and Hove Albion drew 2-all with Southampton after the Saints squandered a two goal advantage.
