Manchester City moved within one victory of securing their 3rd EPL title that would bring them level with Arsenal. City fans will be hoping that they can wrap up the title, that has been virtually theirs since before Christmas, next weekend in the Manchester derby.
Three first half goals for City set them on their way to a comfortable victory over Everton at Goodison Park. The quality of football City have produced this season continues to improve under Pep Guardiola. A consolation goal for Everton from Yannick Bolasie did little to dampen City’s march forward.
Chelsea saw their hopes of a top four finish, and with it Champions League qualification, dashed with a loss to arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs sealed their first win at Stamford Bridge in 28 years to move eight points clear of 5th placed Chelsea with seven games to go. Delli Alli was the hero on the day with his two goals helping to produce a remarkable comeback win.
Spurs shortened to a $1.02 to finish in the top four with Chelsea falling to $13.
Top four finishes seem a certainty for Manchester United and Liverpool. United are priced at $1.005 following their 2-0 win over Swansea. Romelu Lukaku scored his 100th EPL goal to set them on their way before Alexis Sanchez broke his goal drought to gift the win to the Red Devils.
Liverpool stand at $1.02 after a battling 2-1 win over relegation threatened Crystal Palace. Mohammed Salah scored in the 84th minute to cruelly deny Palace a well-deserved point. Despite the loss and sitting only two points above the relegation zone, Crystal Palace are priced at $7 to be relegated.
Swansea are only a point better off than Palace but stand at $6 with the clubs below them favourites for the drop.
Southampton fell to a 3-0 defeat away to West Ham United who boosted their own hopes of survival. The Saints had no answer for West Ham’s attacking threats in the first half as they raced to a three goal that they never surrendered. Despite hopes of a revival following FA Cup success under new manager Mark Hughes they are priced at $2.10.
Despite sitting three points clear of relegation, Huddersfield join Southampton at $2.10. Failure’s going forward are leaving Huddersfield in huge danger of dropping back to the Championship as they struggled again to find the back of the net against Newcastle in their 1-0 loss.
Stoke are three points from safety and fell to a clinical Arsenal who scored three goals in the dying stages of the match. Priced at $1.30 stoke seem almost a certainty for the drop.
An 8th consecutive loss in the EPL for West Brom leaves them rooted to the foot of the table seven points adrift. They stand at $1.01 to finish bottom of the EPL.
