Ipswich will host their biggest race meet for the year this Saturday with the feature race of the day being the 2018 Ipswich Cup.
Run over 2150m, the Channel 7 Ipswich Cup will be race 7 of a scheduled nine race card.
The weather is scheduled to be sunny with the track rated a Soft 6 and the rail being the true position for the entire circuit.
Tradesman ($1.80) is an overwhelming favourite in the Cup with Dean Yendall to take the reins on Saturday. After a disappointing run in the Doomben Cup on May 19 he bounced back to take second place at the Sunshine Coast on a Soft 6 track. He looks the one to beat here.
Ecuador ($6) carries the top weight in the field at 60kg with Tegan Harrison on board. If he can get back to his best, is certainly a strong chance.
Smart As You Think ($8) might have not have been registering wins in recent times but has been a consistent contender. At Sunshine Coast a fortnight ago, over 2200m on a soft 6 track she ran fourth with Tradesman in second place. She must be rated a chance here.
Tumultuous ($11) has not been in great form since winning the Magic Millions Trophy over 2200m in January but has the class to compete here. Corey Brown will be in the saddle.
My Giuliano ($15) with Michael Cahill in the saddle looks a real contender in this race and will enjoy the soft track conditions. A Cahill multi on Saturday with My Giuliano and Tim Cahill to score a goal for the Socceroos against France in the evening may be well worth a look.
Miss Dubois ($21) has drawn barrier 11 which may make it challenging for her, however she is terrific over the journey and will have Jim Byrne to ride her into contention.
In other races, Tullio ($4.60) in Race 3. Manias ($4.80) in Race 5 and Privlaka ($14.00) are certainly worth considering in what should be an excellent day of racing.
Suggested Bet: My Giuliano to win (Race 7) @ $15
