The 2017-18 Hyundai A-League season continues to roll on with Sydney FC still the dominant team in the competition.
The Sky Blues are five points clear of Newcastle Jets in second, with Melbourne City close behind in third.
At the opposite end of the table, Wellington Phoenix have only five points, after giving away a two goal lead on Sunday afternoon to lose 3-2 to Melbourne Victory.
Melbourne Victory versus Adelaide United
Friday, 8 December 2017 at 7.50pm AEDST
Melbourne Victory escaped Wellington with a 3-2 win, after a hat-trick of second-half goals saved Victory from an embarrassing loss.
All looked lost at half-time when Victory trailed 2-0, but goals to Besart Berisha and James Troisi, as well as an own-goal, helped Victory snatch all three points on Sunday afternoon.
Adelaide had the tough task of hosting Sydney FC, who had recently toppled them in the FFA Cup final.
The Reds had no more shots on goal, but failed to find the target, with Sydney grinding out a deserved 1-0 win.
These two sides met earlier in the season at the Adelaide Oval, where the final score was 2-2.
It is hard to justify backing Melbourne Victory at $1.91 given they have had to travel from Wellington and have had two less days to prepare for this fixture.
The draw looks the value play in this one.

Brisbane Roar versus Wellington Phoenix
Saturday, 9 December 2017 at 5.35pm AEDST
Brisbane Roar grabbed an unlikely win last week against Western Sydney, with a 2-0 victory at ANZ Stadium.
The Roar will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they host bottom placed Wellington in Brisbane.
The Roar not only capitalised on their chances against the Wanderers, but they limited the Wanders in front of goal, making for a frustrating afternoon for the red and black bloc.
Wellington are a shambles at the moment and their play fluctuates dramatically between and within every match they play this season.
They held a 3-0 lead over Brisbane earlier in the season in Wellington to draw that match 3-3 and they were overtaken from 2-0 up at half-time last week against Melbourne Victory.
Wellington are simply unbackable at the moment and are clearly the worst team in this season’s A-League.

Perth Glory versus Newcastle Jets
Saturday, 9 December 2017 at 10pm AEDST
Perth Glory couldn’t make it consecutive road victories on Sunday afternoon when they lost to a late Central Coast goal.
The Jets also suffered some late heartbreak, losing to a Manny Muscat rocket and falling to Melbourne City 2-1.
A return to Perth will be welcomed by the Glory, who have played their past two fixtures on the road.
Perth have won three of their past four matches against the Jets at nib Stadium and with upcoming fixtures at home to Wellington and away to Brisbane, coach Kenny Lowe will be looking at this match to potentially start a pre-Christmas winning streak.
