Brisbane Roar versus Perth Glory
Thursday, 21 December 2017 at 7.50pm AEDST at Suncorp Stadium
Brisbane Roar will be looking to propel themselves into the top-six with a win against Perth Glory on Thursday night.
The Roar were dominated in the first half of their clash with Melbourne Victory and could have been down more than two goals if not for some outstanding work by goal keeper Jamie Young.
Perth Glory is a team that has been ravaged by injuries this season, particularly in the attacking third.
The return of Diego Castro last weekend was a welcome one, with the Spaniard scoring the only goal in the Glory’s win over Wellington.
After playing on Sunday night, this is a short turnaround for the Brisbane Roar, with odds of $2.10 simply too short to be backing a Roar team that has stumbled to only two wins through 11 games this season.
Perth Glory have a very poor record in away games in Queensland, losing three of their last four in the sunshine state.
The draw appears to be the best value in this fixture, with both teams prone to defensive lapses, particularly late in games.
Best bet- Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory draw at $3.60 at Sportsbet
Newcastle Jets versus Western Sydney Wanderers
Friday, 22 December 2017 at 7.50pm AEDST at McDonald Jones Stadium
The Newcastle Jets continue to score goals and win games in the 2017-18 season. A last-start 2-1 win against Adelaide cements the Jets in second place on the league table, five points behind Sydney FC.
The Wanderers notched a much-needed win last weekend against the Central Coast Mariners, only their second of the season.
Goals to Brendan Santalab and Alvaro Cejudo, as well as two red cards to the Mariners sealed victory for the Wanderers.
They face a much sterner test this weekend against the Jets, a team they drew with earlier this season in Newcastle.
The Jets are a much improved team from the one that faced the Wanderers in late October, and we expect them to grab all three points against a Wanderers team that needed everything to go their way to earn three points against the Mariners last weekend.

Melbourne City versus Melbourne Victory
Saturday, 23 December 2017 at 7.50pm AEDST at AAMI Park
The second installment of the Melbourne Derby for the 2017-18 season takes place on Saturday night when Melbourne City host Melbourne Victory.
City have already defeated Victory once this season, a 2-1 win in October at Etihad Stadium.
City enter this match in poor form, winning only two of their past seven games in the league.
Victory has also had a poor season by their lofty standards, but a 2-1 win against the Brisbane Roar on Sunday night was their best performance of the season.
Despite winning only three games so far this season, Victory sit amongst a group of six teams that are separated by only four points occupying 4th-9th spot on the league table.
A win against City would catapult Victory into the top four for the first time this season.
The loss of striker Ross McCormack to a knee injury is a massive blow to City given the Scotsmen has been their best avenue to goal all season and their leading scorer.
The concern in this fixture for City is where their goals will come from, given then have been on a barren run in front of goal recently.
Melbourne Victory should be buoyed by their win against the Roar and we expect them to continue their winning ways on Saturday night against City.
Best bet- Melbourne Victory to win at $2.60 at Sportsbet
