Klay Thompson and Steph Curry produced when it mattered on Sunday (AEST), saving the reigning Champion Golden State Warriors’ season with a 115-86 win that sends the Western Conference Finals to a game seven.
With 35 and 29 points respectively, the “Splash Brothers” efforts mean that both Conference Finals are heading to a game seven for the first time since 1979.
The series now shifts back to Houston for the decider on Tuesday (AEST), but the hosts are likely to be without Chris Paul, who sat out game six with a hamstring injury. Even if he does suit up, it will be from the bench, which means that MVP favourite James Harden will be guiding the Rockets offence.
Harden had 32-points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in a losing effort in game six, and the Western Conference Champions will need more from the 28-year-old if they are to reach the Finals for the first time since 1995.
Houston led by 17 points at quarter time in game six, but couldn’t land the knockout blow and were eventually overwhelmed by the reigning Champions, who are now $1.41 to move through to qualify for their fourth Finals in as many years.
We like the juicy $3.04 about a Rockets upset though, even without CP3, they will be confident given they’ve lost just three of their last 20 home games. The postseason has favoured the home teams this season and Mike D’Antoni’s charges have a great opportunity to create their own slice of history.
We’re expecting James Harden to post a 30 plus point triple double and lead his side to an upset win against the champs in what looms as an epic conclusion to the Western Conference Finals series.
Suggested Bet: Rockets to win $3.04
