Round 22 kicks off when the Bulldogs host the in-form Eels on Thursday night. The line in that game is 5.5 points, which is the equal second-highest line of a round that is shaping up as a tight one.
St George-Illawarra Dragons v South Sydney Rabbitohs, SCG, Friday August 4, 6pm AEST
St George Illawarra Dragons have fallen well and truly into a fight to stay in the top eight. It appears a straight shootout between them and Penrith Panthers for 8th place on the ladder. A loss to the bottom of the ladder dwelling Newcastle Knights has made their run in even more difficult.
That was only the Knights third victory of the year against a Dragons side who not that long ago were in the top four. They must now regroup as they take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 22.
Last week’s loss to the Raiders came with some heart in the performance and they will fancy their chances against a Dragons side on the slide. St George, however, have the potential to come out firing to reignite their season. This is a must win for the Dragons.
Bet of the Match: St George to Win by 1-12 points at $2.90

North Queensland Cowboys v Melbourne Storm, 1300Smiles Stadium, Friday August 4, 7:50pm AEST
While the fight intensifies for the top eight, there is plenty of action left for those sides hoping to seal a place in the top four. Three sides are on level points from 4th to 6th with North Queensland one of those sides in contention.
Despite injuries to key players throughout the year, the Cowboys have shown their Premiership pedigree to still be in the hunt for the top four. This week they take on the table topping Melbourne Storm in Townsville. The Cowboys need the win to maintain pressure on the clubs around them on the ladder and are priced at $2.60 to do so.
A Round 21 loss to the 2nd placed Roosters has shown how fierce the competition is at the top of the NRL. The Storm, meanwhile, have secured back to back wins to keep them sitting in 1st place, charging towards another Minor Premiership. They stand at $1.51 to continue their winning streak heading into Finals time.
Bet of the Match: North Queensland to Win by 1-12 points at $3.75
Cronulla Sharks v Canberra Raiders, Southern Cross Group Stadium, Saturday August 5, 7:30pm AEST
Canberra can no longer realistically make the Finals but they can do their best to hamper the progress of Cronulla. The Sharks are well placed in 3rd just ahead by two points on the ladder of those three sides below them.
Canberra beat South Sydney last weekend after an agonising loss to the Storm the week before. The Raiders have struggled for consistency this season and will need a similar performance to the one against Melbourne if they are to challenge the Sharks at all in Round 22.
Bet of the Match: Cronulla to Win by 13+ points at $2.90
