A crazy start to the 2018 NRL season has seen Wests Tigers beat two of the front runners to be Premiers. The Tigers will face the Broncos on Friday night alongside Bulldogs and Panthers. Super Saturday will see the Raiders v Warriors, Rabbitohs v Sea Eagles and Eels v Sharks. Rounding out the weekend Titans v Dragons and Roosters v Knights.
Kicking off all the action though will be arguably the match up of the Round with a rematch of last season’s Grand Final going up against the start of the AFL in Melbourne.
Melbourne Storm v Nth Queensland Cowboys, Thursday 22nd March 2018, 8.05pm at AAMI Park
The Storm ran out comfortable winners when these two sides last met back in October. With Melbourne crowned Premiers with a 34-6 win against a Cowboys side who struggled to contain the quality of the Storm squad. They night will seem an age ago though after the Storm were beaten by the Tigers last weekend in their first home game of 2018 and Billy Slater’s 300th game. There will be no panic in the Melbourne camp, but they will have to be at their best to match the price of $1.65.
An opening Round victory over Cronulla for North Queensland suggested that they were back to their best. Yet, they failed to capitalise on their chances in Round as they went down to the Broncos at Suncorp. Things don’t get any easier as they now make the trip to Melbourne. They only lost by a point at AAMI Park last season and with the return of Michael Morgan they’ll be confident of overturning a price of $2.25.

Wests Tigers v Brisbane Broncos, Friday 23rd March 2018, 8.05pm at Campbelltown Stadium
How long can Wests continue their incredible form? Two out of two with wins 10-8 wins over the Roosters and Storm has left Tigers fans in dreamland. The tests will only get more difficult as other teams start to recognise what they are doing and as the pressure builds. They remain underdogs for this match at $2.20 but have shown enough in the last two weeks to possibly cause an upset.
The Broncos were poor in their opener against the Dragons but bounced back to secure an invaluable win against the Cowboys. At $1.68 they are favourites to win this one but will be wary of a resurgent Tigers side in front of their home fans.
Bet of the Match – Wests to Win by 1-12 points at $3.40
Sydney Roosters v Newcastle Knights, Sunday 25th March 2018, 6.30pm at Allianz Stadium
The return of Mitchell Pearce to his old club this weekend will dominate the headlines. As will his head to head with his replacement at the Roosters, Cooper Cronk. Pearce has settled in quickly in his new surrounding in Newcastle guiding his side to two wins from two. Last weekend they battled long and hard against the Raiders but stayed in the game where in the past they would have fallen off. They stand at $3.20.
Cooper Cronk has had an indifferent start to his career in Sydney after losing in Round 1 to the Tigers but produced a fine performance as they ran away against the Bulldogs. At $1.36 they are clear favourites for this match and will need Cronk and other key signings to be at their best.
