Super Rugby returns to Australian shores this weekend but the main focus of the rugby public will be on Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, for the third and deciding Test between the All Blacks and the British & Irish Lions.
All Blacks v British and Irish Lions, Eden Park, Auckland, Saturday July 8, 5:35pm AEST
An historic victory in Wellington for the British & Irish Lions has set up a thrilling winner takes all decider this weekend. The All Blacks will return to their fortress of Eden Park looking to secure the Series. Despite having only 14 men for over half the match, New Zealand certainly had plenty of chances to win the 2nd Test last weekend and may well rue those missed opportunities.
They are, however, still heavy favourites with William Hill priced at $1.18. The Lions face a mammoth task to beat the All Blacks in Auckland to register their first Series victory against New Zealand since 1971.
The tourists are priced at $5 but as last weekend showed they do have the capability of pushing the All Blacks all the way. With no new injury concern or suspensions, the Lions are likely to field a similar side to the one that claimed victory.
Bet of the Match: New Zealand to Win by 1-12 points at $2.60
Reds v Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, Friday July 7, 7:45pm AEST
The Reds and Brumbies will meet in Brisbane with the home side only playing for pride. With top spot in the Australian Conference already secured, the Brumbies will be looking to build momentum ahead of the Finals. Meaning this could well be a very open game with plenty of attacking rugby.
The last time these two sides met back in Round 7, it was the Brumbies who were victorious that day 43-10. A result that the Reds will be hoping they can gain some revenge for this weekend. Prior to the June break, the Brumbies had a comfortable win over the Rebels whilst the Reds pushed the Blues all the way in a thrilling 34-29 loss in Samoa.
Bet of the Match: Brumbies to Win by 1-12 points at $2.80
Force v Rebels, NIB Stadium, Perth, Friday July 7, 9:55pm AEST
With the axe still hanging over the Rebels and Western Force, they will meet in Round 16 in Perth. The farce surrounding the cull of an Australian Super Rugby side has thrust both of these sides into the spotlight. That will be just another story in the background, however, as results on the field are unlikely to determine who eventually gets cut, if anyone.
The Force are favourites to win this match priced at $1.35. A disappointing season can only get worse for the Rebels if they fail to beat the Force.
Having only won one game all the season, the Melbourne based side are in desperate need of staking their survival claim on the pitch. They stand at $3.20 for the win.
Bet of the Match: Rebels to Win by 1-12 points at $4.20
