2nd: No 18. Altar
3rd: No 1. Moment Of Change
4th: No 17. Yosei
The main race of the day, and like the Group One BTC Cup in Brisbane, there is a dominant favourite, but we are going around him looking for some value. The Peter Snowden-trained Galah has always shown ability and first up here he can settle back in the field and with some pace on in the run, could work home over the top of them. Going with a quinella for the Snowden stable and putting in the lightly weight Altar who didn’t have much luck in running last time out when coming home well for fifth in the Group One Sangster Stakes at the track and distance. The race favourite Moment Of Change has form around Black Caviar and is already a winner at the highest level and looks more than capable of running a huge race. If you went with pure race performance, triple Group One winner Yosei, on the limit weight of 52.5 is a moral, and really the way she flew home in the Sangster, she could win here without surprising, and the only reasons she is not rated higher than fourth is her poor second up form.

Race 8: Listed Centrebet Proud Miss Stakes (1200m)
1st: No 6. Embark
2nd: No 2. Just Discreet
3rd: No 5. Tariana
4th: No 11. Juliet’s Princess

Best Bet Of The Day: Race 6, No 2. Linton 6yo g. (Galileo x Our Heather, by Centaine), trained by John Sadler. A winner here over 1400m last time out when coming home well from the back of the field. Steps up to the 1600m, which is ideal for him third up and with some luck in running in the large field should be storming home over the top of them

Best On Breeding: Race 7, No 5. Galah 4yo h. (Redoute’s Choice x Rinky Dink, by  Distorted Humor), trained by Peter Snowden. Racing first up, this four-year-old is by Redoute’s Choice out of the Group One winning mare Rinky Dink, who won her Group One in 2004 of the Australasian Oaks over 2024m at this track. A win here would give him stallion appeal.
