Chelsea could be facing its last chance of securing a spot in next year’s Champions League when it hosts a storming Liverpool side in the Premier League this weekend.
Chelsea is currently in fifth place on the EPL ladder, five points behind Tottenham and a coveted top-four spot.
Liverpool meanwhile, will need to quickly recover after from its trip to Italy this week where it snuck through to the Champions League final despite a second-leg, 4-2 semi-final loss to Roma.
Chelsea’s hopes rest on the fact that while it has three games remaining in the season, third-place Liverpool has just two.
While a win for the Reds on Monday would them a top-four finish, a loss would move Chelsea just three points behind Liverpool with a possible six points left in the season.
Sportsbet is leaning toward a Chelsea win, paying $2.10 for the Londoners to win at Stamford Bridge with $3.10 for Liverpool and $3.30 for a draw.
While Spurs are on a miserly $1.005 to secure a top-four spot and Liverpool is paying $1.05, Chelsea fans may be tempted by the generous $10 on offer.
Tottenham, which also has three matches left to play, will be looking to make the most of the chance to grab three points from its match against last-placed West Bromwich Albion.
Spurs claimed a much-needed 2-0 victory over Watford last round, but must win two of its remaining games to be assured of European football next year.
West Brom, meanwhile, needs to rely on a great deal of luck as much as its own performance if it to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
Spurs are paying $1.36 to take the win in Birmingham, with $7.50 for West Brom and $5 for a draw.
While second-placed Manchester is assured of a place in the four, its opponent this week Brighton, is desperately in need of a win.
Brighton is winless in its last six and has slumped to 14th on the table, just five points clear of the relegation zone with three games remaining.
United had Brighton’s measure when they narrowly beat the Seagulls in the league and FA Cups earlier in the season, but have only pride to play for on Saturday.
United is the clear favourite to win at Brighton, with $5 for a loss and $3.75 for a draw.
Aaron Mooy’s Huddersfield faces a nightmare three matches to end the season as it looks to prolong its stay in the EPL, starting with a trip to Manchester City on Sunday.
While City has already secured the EPL crown, Huddersfield is languishing in 16th spot on 35 points, just seven points ahead of West Brom.
There is little light at the end of the tunnel for the EPL newcomers, with the match against City to be followed by tough encounters against Chelsea and Arsenal.
The bookies hold little hope of an upset in Manchester this week, with Huddersfield on a whopping $26 for the win against just $1.07 for City and $12 for a draw.
