All four first leg ties in the Champions League quarter finals ended with a victor on the night. The beauty of two legged matches, however, means that there remains a shot at redemption for the losing sides as they go in search of place in the semi-finals.
Man City v Liverpool (0-3), Wednesday 11th April 2018, 4.45am (AEST)
Liverpool produced their best performance of the season as they ran riot to record a 3-0 first leg win over Manchester City. A quick fire opening salvo in the first 30 minutes put Liverpool in control of this tie and it is there’s to lose at the Etihad. With an injury cloud hanging over striker Mohammed Salah, Liverpool stand as underdogs at $6.50 on the night but favourites at $1.15 to qualify.
City need to regroup after what has been a disastrous seven days for them. Humbled by Liverpool and then ram raided by Manchester United in the EPL, they need to regain their form and fast before this week derails their season. They are priced at $1.45 to win on the night but can they score enough goals to reach the semis at $5.
Bet of the Match – Man City to Win 2-1 at $8.50
Roma v Barcelona (1-4), Wednesday 11th April 2018, 4.45am (AEST)
Despite returning home from the Nou Camp with a valuable away goal, it is hard to see Roma seriously threatening Barcelona. It took two own goals to get Barcelona started in the first leg, but they will simply have too much for Roma. The away side are clear favourites to qualify at $1.002 compared to the Italians at $41.
In the Champions League anything can happen, but Roma need a major miracle to have an impact on this tie.
Bet of the Match – Barcelona to Win 2-0 at $9
Bayern Munich v Sevilla (2-1), Thursday 12th April 2018, 4.45am (AEST)
In between these two legs, Bayern Munich comfortably wrapped up another Bundesliga title. Giving extra impetus to the Champions League as they can now focus on that prize which is bad news for Sevilla. The Spaniards took the lead in the first leg through Pablo Sarabia but could not contain the class of Bayern with Franck Ribery in fine form.
The two away goals added a safety net for Bayern, although they are unlikely to need it as they head into this match priced at $1.02 to qualify with Sevilla at $14.
Bet of the Match – Bayern to Win 3-0 at $8
Real Madrid v Juventus (3-0), Thursday 12th April 2018, 4.45am (AEST)
Juventus failed to live up to their billing as Real secured a comfortable 3-0 win in Turin. Cristiano Ronaldo was at his best as the Spanish side continue to try and put behind them a disappointing domestic campaign. In Europe they have been at their best and $1.002 to qualify from this match with Juventus at $51.
Bet of the Match – Real Madrid to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 at $3.60
