UEFA Europa League Quarter Finals Best Bets

Wed, Apr 4, 11:52am by Staff Writer

Whilst the attention of most supporters will be on the Champions League this week, there is also the quarter finals of the Europa League. UEFA’s secondary competition, however, is now a pathway to next season’s Champions League, with that now the sought-after prize alongside the silverware.

RB Leipzig v Marseille, Friday 6th April 2018, 5.05am

German side RB Leipzig enter this clash as favourites to take a positive result to France in the 2nd leg. Leading up to this match they have been in fine form in the Bundesliga, although they will be concerned at their leaky defence. A win over table toppers Bayern Munich two weeks ago will have boosted the confidence that they can compete against the best sides in Europe. They stand at $1.67.

Despite being priced at $4.50, there is certainly the chance of an upset over the two legs. The French club may struggle in this leg away from home but have the class to claw back a result back at home. Having made the final in 1999 and 2004, they will be hoping to go all the way this season.

Bet of the Match – RB Leipzig to Win 2-1 at $7.50

Arsenal v CSKA Moscow, Friday 6th April 2018, 5.05am

Arsenal are one of the remaining clubs who desperately need to win the Europa League. Struggling in the EPL in 6th place and out of the FA Cup this remains their only chance of silverware and importantly a way into next season’s Champions League. Home advantage should give them the edge as they are priced at $1.33. Although they been guilty of producing several poor performances at the Emirates Stadium this season.

The best hopes of the Russian side appear to be to grab a draw or close loss in the 1st leg and take the tie back to Moscow still in the balance. The travel and the climate could give them a serious boost in the 2nd leg back home which they will need priced at $9.50 for this match.

Bet of the Match – Draw 1-1 at $9

Lazio v Red Bull Salzburg, Friday 6th April 2018, 5.05am

Beaten finalists all the way back in 1998, Lazio have not enjoyed much success in Europe in recent times. Sitting 5th in Serie A this could be their best way to Champions League football next season and they stand as favourites in this clash at $1.67. They warmed up for this match with a 6-2 thrashing of Benevento.

Salzburg pulled off the shock of the last Round as they got past Borussia Dortmund. Priced at $4.50 they are up against it but have shown that they have the capabilities to beat clubs with more European pedigree than them. Back to back victories in the Austrian Bundesliga has set them up to have a crack at Lazio.

Bet of the Match – Draw 1-1 at $6.50

Atletico Madrid v Sporting Lisbon, Friday 6th April 2018, 5.05am

Atletico Madrid stand as heavy favourites for both this clash and to go on and win the tournament. At $1.25 they are expected to simply have to much for the Portuguese side. With a Madrid derby sandwiched in between these two legs they could be excused for taking their eyes of the ball.

The task appears immense for Sporting as they stand at $11, yet they could cause an upset. Especially if they can achieve a positive result in Madrid in the 1st leg.

Bet of the Match – Atletico to Win 2-0 at $5
