The English Premier round 24 action kicks off tonight at 11:45pm AEST. There are 8 matches on tonight, with one on tomorrow night and one on Monday night. It’s crunch time for a lot of teams at the moment, especially for sides like Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea can’t afford anything other than a win on Monday night, and Liverpool have all but shattered their hopes of European football next season if they don’t make an extensive run in the later half of the season.
There are plenty on matches to get through so let’s get straight into it. Remember that as always, my selections will be in bold. Round 24 betting odds are provided by Sportsbet Australia.
Wolves are playing at home and fighting for relegation. Liverpool are away from home and in terrible form. My prediction is that Wolves can scrape a draw here.
West Ham: $7.00
Even though Everton are without star Aussie play maker Tim Cahill they’ll still win this match. They are recovering from they terrible start to the season and West Ham are woeful.
Fulham will be without our Aussie keeper in goal but are expected to get all the points here. Stoke are sitting pretty in 8th place and I’m tipping them to get up in a bit of an upset.
Man UTD: $1.22
Man Utd are top of the table despite having two games in hand to their nearest rival. They’ll want to heap pressure on their main title threats by winning here. I expect them to get up in this match, but don’t expect them to get it all their own way.
Arsenal have run into some great form of late and surprising doubters like me of their ability to win the EPL this season. Wigan are in the relegation zone and I expect Arsenal to tear them apart in this match and win by at least 2 goals.
This is a hard match to predict because Newcastle are capable of beating any team at home in the league. That being said they are also capable of losing to any team. Hotspurs are sitting nicely in 5th spot and want to keep in contact with the top 4 as they push for a Champions League spot next season. Tipping Tottenham in a close one.
Both teams are performing better than most pundits expected this season. This match could go either way and I can’t separate them for I’m picking the draw.
Aston Villa: $3.50
Man City: $2.10
If Man City are going to contend for the title this year these are the sort of matches that they need to win. It should be a firey encounter and won that should have plenty of goals. Man City’s frailty at the back will need to be sured up sooner rather than later as they have been leaking goals left, right and centre.
West Brom: $3.30
This match is the only match being played on Monday morning AEST and won;t be the best spectacle. I expect a dour match ending in a draw.
Chelsea have finally found a bit of form in their past couple of matches after being in a massive slump. They’ll turn it on here and the $1.67 about them is a great bet.
