Mid-week action kicks off again today which is Wednesday the 2nd March 2011. Today is an exciting day for this writer and my galloper races today at Doomben.
Before we turn this into a show about me, let’s get the best bets for the day underway at Randwick, Sandown and Doomben race courses.
Sandown Race 5, No.10 – From the Terrace
From the Terrace is a 5YO Untouchable Gelding who finished 2nd in his last start at Sandown. He finished behind Dane the Rave and beat At the Heads. He jumped awkwardly and had to be checked at the 200m.
From the Terrace has won over 120k and I expect that prize money to increase today. The main threat is number 12 Nakaaya who ran home from well back last start and will be looking to do the same today.
Randwick Race 1, No.5 – Ice Creme
I backed against this horse last start in a race that she was impressive in. She is a 3YO Filly and trained by Gai Warerhouse. With a sire of Encosta De Lago you know the type of race horse you’re betting on here. She is 2nd up here and she’ll win.
Randwick Race 5, No.2 – Danza King
Danza King finished in a dead heat for first against the main threat in this race Eager Beaver. Danza King has drawn barrier 5 today and is 2nd up from an 11 week rest after having two trials.
This 4YO black Gelding by Youthful legs goes into today’s race as a $3.70 favourite and I think he can win the race “outright” today.
Doomben Race 2, No.1 – Topping
Topping will race a very short priced favourite today and rightfully so. He goes into this race against much lesser horses and a race that he should be able to win with a minimum of fuss.
Topping’s form reads 18:4-3-2 and recent form of 1-5-2-4. The $1.40 about him at Sportsbet is really short, but he’ll win this race.
My horse goes around in race 5 and is No.1 – He’s Reeling. He’s had 7 starts for 5 placings and will run 2nd favourite to Tiyatro in this race. Tiyatro was purchased as a 180k yearling being from Encosta De Lago and a Flying Spur mare. Tiyatro has finally been drawn a good barrier (4) and will look to be either leading of close to it.
All the main chances in this race are front runners so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Good luck to all the punters that read here at AustralianGambling.com.au – I’m off to the races!
