Sat, Mar 19, 12:40pm by Kevin Pitstock

Game: Connecticut Huskies vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

Date/Time: Sunday March 20th, 2011 / 1:40pm AEST

The Big East Conference will get together, for the right to head to the Sweet 16. The Connecticut Huskies will take on the Cincinnati Bearcats within the West region. This game will be played in Washington. The winner of this game will take on the winner of San Diego State and Temple in the Sweet 16. Connecticut comes into the game as the third seed in the region, while the Bearcats are the sixth seed. When these two teams met during the Big East conference slate, Connecticut came away with a 67-59 win.
Connecticut Huskies Overview:

There is not a team hotter than the COnnecticut Huskies in all of college basketball. The Huskies won five games in five days to win the Big East tournament. The Huskies beat Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Louisville in consecutive days. After coming into the season out of the Top 25, the Huskies started the season playing really well and exploding into the top 5.

The Huskies went through a tough stretch where they lost four of five games. Since that point, Connecticut has won six in a row. Kimba Walker has been one of the best players in the country this season. Walker is scoring 23.5 points per game, and is also second on the team in rebounds and the top assist man for the Huskies. Walker was battling it out with Jimmer Fredette for the scoring lead through the first third of the season.
Cincinnati Bearcats Overview:

The Cincinnati Bearcats finished with a 26-8 record. The Bearcats went 11-7 in conference play; to finish sixth. The Bearcats lost to Notre Dame in the conference tournament, but still managed a sixth seed. In their first NCAA tournament game, Cincinnati downed the Missouri Tigers by 15 points.

Yancey Gates leads Cincinnati in scoring and rebounding with 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. The Bearcats as a team scored just 69 points per game, which was one of the lowest in the Big East. This is the 25th time the Bearcats have been to the NCAA tournament. The win over Missouri was their 41st win in 64 games.
Connecticut/Cincinnati Pick:

Just like during the conference season, the Connecticut Huskies will show they just have too much fire power. Not only does Kimba Walker know how to put points on the board, but the entire UConn roster can explode. Look for the Huskies to win this game by double digits over the Bearcats.

Our pick: Connecticut Huskies to beat the Cincinnati Bearcats and cover -3.5. Bet the Huskies at -3.5 at Iasbet
