I hope you followed our advice last week which resulted in a 75% strike rate with three out of the four tips saluting.
First up, on Thursday night, the Cowboys won their 11th straight for us in Minnesota, and speaking of Dallas, we cover their Sunday Night matchup with the Giants further down the page.
On Sunday, the only team to let us down was the Panthers, we had them to keep it close (7.5) against the Seahawks but they were blown away by 40-7.
The Steelers ($1.86) and the Colts ($1.87) did the right thing and put some cash in www.australiangambling.lv’s pockets
Several playoff contenders could suffer key losses in Week 14 of the 2016 NFL season. Three first-place teams are underdogs on the upcoming schedule, and a few wild-card teams could have trouble winning against divisional opponents.
After underdogs got off to a strong start this season, favourites have performed much better in the second half. For the third week in a row, the favourites dominated, winning 11 out of the 15 games and Week 14 may well go the same way.
There are only two teams favoured by over a touchdown this week. The Detroit Lions are the shortest priced favourites of the week at $1.29 to beat the Bears ($3.75) at home. The line is at 7.5 points – the biggest of the week.
If the Cleveland Browns ($2.92) lose to the Cincinnati Bengals ($1.43) on Sunday, they will officially reach one year since the team’s last win. They last took home a win against the San Francisco 49ers on December 13, 2015, back when Johnny Manziel was still the quarterback. The line is at 5.5 points for this one.
Week Fourteen kicked off on Friday afternoon AEDT when the Chiefs hosted the Raiders, the final score was 21-13 in the Chiefs’ favour, getting us our first winner of the weekend.
It’s a full book of games this weekend with no byes. Here are the three best bets for Week Fourteen of the 2016 NFL season:
Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers
Lambeau Field, Green Bay – 8:25am Monday December 12
Two in-form teams meet on Sunday afternoon (Monday morning AEDT) in Green Bay when Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are gunning for three straight wins against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks who’ve won four of their past five.
The home team may have won two straight, but the problems that plagued them during their four-game losing streak have not been resolved. After facing two mediocre teams, Green Bay could find themselves back in the loss column when facing a top Super Bowl contender.
Despite beating both Philadelphia and Houston in the past two weeks, the Packers (6-6) remain two games behind Detroit in the NFC North but have got back into the wild-card chase, where they trail Tampa Bay (7-5) by one game.
The Seahawks have won four of their last five games, including a blowout of Carolina on Sunday night in which Wilson threw for 277 yards and Thomas Rawls ran for 106 of the team’s 240 rushing yards.
The Seahawks are three games clear at the top of the NFC West, they did suffer a significant loss when safety Earl Thomas sustained a broken leg against the Panthers. Steven Terrell is expected to replace Thomas.
I’m backing the Seahawks to be too strong for an inconsistent Packers outfit here.
Suggested Bet: Seahawks to win: $1.70
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
MetLife Stadium, New Jersey – 12:30pm Monday December 12
The Dallas Cowboys can take another step in their quest to reach their first Super Bowl in two decades with a win over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. With a quarter of the season still remaining, “America’s Team” can clinch the NFC East title with a win over their rivals.
It would be only fitting for Dallas to win the division at MetLife Stadium as the Giants are the only team that has stood in between the Cowboys and perfection, having handed their rivals their only loss of the year in Week One.
But Dallas have proven to be much better over the course of the season and they should be able to avenge their previous loss to New York. Sportsbet has the Cowboys priced as a $1.58 favourite to do just that with the Giants at $2.45. The line is at a field goal.
Scoring just 14 points last week, the Giants dropped to 26th in total offence while Dallas ranks fourth in offence after facing the NFL’s number three ranked defence. Judging by those numbers, Dallas’ winning streak should stretch to 12.
In the season opener, Ezekiel Elliott rushed for a season-low 51 yards and Dak Prescott had a season-low 69.4 passer rating but the two rookies have been unstoppable since losing to New York in their debut and it’s asking a lot of New York to shut them both down for the second time this year.
Suggested Bet: Cowboys to win: $1.58
Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots
Gillette Stadium, Massachusetts– 12:30pm Tuesday December 13
Two teams that currently lead their divisions are set to meet in New England in a blockbuster finish to Week 14. Baltimore are coming off a 38-6 demolition of the Dolphins while the Patriots defeated the Rams comfortably by 26-10.
Sportsbet has installed the home team as strong favourites at $1.31 and rightly so, considering they’ve never lost to the Ravens in Foxborough. The Ravens are at $3.60 and the line is at a touchdown. Interestingly, the line in the U.S. is currently at 8.5 points so there is value here in Australia – the Vegas odds are thanks to our friends at oddsshark.com
The Patriots have one lost just one game with Tom Brady at the helm this season, against the Seahawks but it has gotten a little easier to slow down New England’s offence now though with the loss of Rob Gronkowski.
Although the Ravens post one of the league’s best defences, it’s the other side of the ball that they’ve been struggling. Quarterback Joe Flacco is not having a great season. He’s thrown 11 interceptions in 12 games, including two in the game against the Browns and their running game also leaves a lot to be desired.
The Patriots look primed here to push Baltimore’s back against the wall and cover the line.
Suggested Bet: Patriots to win by over 7 points: $1.90
