PGA Betting: Honda Classic PGA Tournament – Prediction

Thu, Mar 3, 2:42pm by Kevin Pitstock

The Honda Classic PGA Tournament will take place March 3-6, 2011 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at the PGA National Resort and Spa’s Championship Course. In 2010, the winner was Camilo Villegas with a five stroke victory and this year he comes in with 50/1 odds at Sportsbet to repeat.

Lee Westwood comes in with the best odds for this tourney at 12/1. Westwood has been here before and knows how to handle this course. He is particularly tough at holes 15-16-17 which are known as the most difficult three holes together of any on the tour. Graeme McDowell hit a snag last week with an early loss in the Accenture Match Play but it also gave him some rest time. He is a good putter and hits the greens with consistency. His odds are 15/1 to win.

Matt Kuchar won this event in 2002 but he has played very well throughout the entire tour up to this point in the season. Kuchar enters with 20/1 odds to win in 2011. Luke Donald is 15/1 mainly on his success last weekend at the Accenture Match Play. If he stays hot he can be a force in this event.

If you like the longshots then consider Brian Gay at 40/1 odds. He has been consistently in the top 20 in several of the stops on the tour this year. Also, consider D.A. Points, the Pebble Beach winner, with his game back on and his Sportsbet odds at 60/1 he could have the capabilities to make some money for you.

Lastly, Vijay Singh at 25/1 is capable on this course to sneak in and the biggest chance at 80/1 to make some serious cash is Boo Weekley. He is playing great golf right now with a T-2 at this classic in 2007.

Our Pick: Matt Kuchar at 20/1 odds at Sportsbet
