Ipswich Race 7, No.3 – Show Me An Ace
I watched the son of Show a Heart race in his Maiden last start a fortnight ago at Ipswich. I know a fair bit about this horse having been around him and the trainer Darryl Hansen several times.
The background of him is that he was broken in and then sent to a paddock for close to a year before he was sent to the current trainer. He is very green and the jockey last start Scriven said he won on fear. He missed the start, didn’t know what he was doing but won on raw ability.
If he manages to put any sort of a decent race together today he will demolish this field and then head to the city next start. Chris Munce is aboard him today, with the experience only going to aid him in settling down and getting a smooth run.
Moonee Valley Race 1, No.1 – Jugahlation
It seems to be a common theme today me choosing horses that the galloper I own has raced against. I wrote about him last start when he went to the city and said back him each way at odds of about 20/1. He finished 3rd that day and has had a bit of a rest since then.
Jugahlation’s form is 2-2-1-3 and heads into this 1200m Benchmark 68 race as the top weight with 59kg and barrier 10. I think he’ll start much shorted than last start but think he’s a solid bet here. He never has a bad run, storms home and is always in with a good chance. Fantastic each way chance today.
Moonee Valley Race 6, No.7 – Lights of Heaven
The Peter Moody trained Lights of Heaven goes around tonight coming off the back of two wins in her only two starts. She is a Filly by Zabeel and races today in the Sportingbet Fillies Classic over 1600m.
I think she’ll be too tough for this field despite obviously going up in class.
Good luck with you punting today readers. It’s a terrific day of racing tomorrow so best of luck getting an extra bit in the kitty from today’s action.
