We’ll be focusing on Hawkesbury races today where we feel we have an edge in the punting compared with the meets at Bunbury and Ballarat. We didn’t fare too well yesterday will our long shot finishing near the back, a 2nd place in the next race and finishing with a fast fading early leader.
We’re right back into today though, even though it’s pretty quiet in terms of betting. Punters usually use today for research for the upcoming Friday night meets and of course Saturday afternoon. Sportsbet.com.au do have early fixed odds markets available if that’s your cup of tea.
Hawkesbury Races Best Bets Today
This first best bet of the days gets underway in less than an hour so you’ll have to be quick. This is also our best bet of the day, even though it’s a maiden. Genki Moochi has had two 2nds in his two official races thus far. This 3YO bay colt has won a trial, and should be raring to go after a trial at Randwick on the 27th of January where he placed 4/6.
This is definitely my best bet of the day – Genki Moochi. I usually try to steer clear of maiden races, but he should do this in a gallop. if early markets are any guide, he’ll pay around $2.80 on Sportsbet but expect that to shorten in closer to the jump.
Race 7, No.2 – Eagle Rock
This horse is beautifully bred out of the sire Galileo, which produce great stayers in my opinion. I recently saw a few of these horses at the Magic Millions sales and they looked a treat. I’ll be looking to buy one myself in the future.
Back to the punting – this horse has won over 190k in his lifetime and over this 1600m trip the 6YO gelding looks a winner.
They’re our two best bets for the day. Check back tomorrow morning for all the action on Friday horse races as we start to draw nearer the big races of the week.
