Ortensia has been dealt a major blow ahead of her attempt to become the 1st filly in 12 years to win the event.
The barrier draw means that she will be jumping from barrier 16 out of a possible 20. She was expected to start favourite in the $1 million race but that now looks unlikely.
The draw was more favourable for Black Piranha though. The gelding that is owned by Con Karakatsanis was drawn in barrier 4 and could start as short as $3.50.
