On Saturday February 26th, 2011 UFC 127 will take place at the ACER Arena in Sydney Australia. UFC 127 will be the second event held in the Australian city. The first one was back in 2010 when UFC 110 sold out. This event sold out two days after tickets went on sale. That was the fastest sell of tickets for a UFC event.
The event will feature 12 fights, with five of them from the main card, and the other 7 on the preliminary card. Out of the 24 fighters in the event, 10 of them are from the United States.
In the first middleweight fight, Chris Lytle from the United States will take on Brian Ebersole, also from the United States. Both of these fighters are relatively unknown when it comes to the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
Lytle is 36 years old, while Ebersole is 30. Lytle is a very small favorite in this one, but we seem to like Ebersole to win this bout. We are betting on Brian Ebersole +155 to beat Chris Lytle at UFC 127.
In the second Middleweight Bout at UFC 127 at the ACER Arena, Chris Camozzi will take on Kyle Noke. Camozzi is just 24 years old, born and raised in California. He holds a 14-3 UFC record with his most recent fight coming against Dong Yi Yang, where he won via a split decision. He has won his last four fights. Kyle Noke, of Australia will turn 31 years old in March. Noke is 18-4 and also winners of his last four fights.
Kyle Noke comes in -210 for this fight, while Chris Camozzi is listed at +170. We like Camozzi’s quickness in this one, especially with his younger legs. Look for Camozzi to pull the upset in a very close fight that comes down to a split decision. We are taking Chris Camozzi +170 over Kyle Noke.
In the Lightweight Bout, George Sotiropoulous will take on Dennis Siver. Sotiropoulous is from Geelong, Victoria Australia. The 5’10, 155lbs fighter specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He holds a 14-2 record, and is the winner of eight straight fights. His opponent – Dennis Siver is from Russia. Known as “The Menace”, Siver is 17-7 in 24 career professional fights. He has won his last two fights; over Spencer Fisher and Andre Winner.
George Sotiropoulous comes in as a -350 favorite. Those are pretty hefty odds that he will win the fight. The underdog, Dennis Siver is listed at +250. It’s probably not worth the gamble, because Sotiropoulous is out for blood. We like him to win the fight, at -350 odds.
In the other Welterweight bout at UFC 127, the fight of the night will feature B.J. Penn against Jon Fitch. B.J. Penn, at the age of 32 has won titles in two different divisions. Penn, known as the Prodigy is coming off a win over Matt Hughes via knockout, after losing two straight bouts. His opponent, Jon Fitch holds a 23-3 all time record. The graduate of Purdue University has won his last five fights, including a win over Thiago Alves at UFC 117.
Jon Fitch is the favorite in this bout. He comes into the fight -200, while B.J. Penn is listed at +160. This is going to be an epic fight between two guys that know how to win in big time battles. We like Fitch’s momentum right now, coming off some big wins. With our money, we are going to take Jon Fitch +200 to beat B.J. Penn at UFC 127.
In the only middleweight bout of the night, Michael Bisping will take on Jorge Rivera. Bisping was born on a British Military Base. He has been fighting for years, and has seen a bunch of success. Bisping is 20-3 overall, with recent wins over Dan Miller and Yoshirio Akiyama. Bisping is known best for boxing and his kickboxing abilities. His opponent, Jorge Rivera will turn 39 years old on Monday night. The veteran fighter has won 19 and lost 7 professional fights. Rivera uses the Muay Thai style of fighting, and is one of the best at it.
Michael Bisping is listed at -350 for this fight at UFC 127. His opponent, Jorge Rivera, as the underdog, is at +250. We like Jorge Rivera to win this fight and pull the upset. Take Jorge Rivera +250 at UFC 127!
