Brisbane Broncos vs Canberra Raiders Betting

NRL Round 14 Betting: Brisbane Broncos Vs Canberra Raiders – Sunday 12th of June 2011

The Broncos will be coming up against the Raiders for the second  time this year, on this occastion they will have the pleasure of hosting the Raiders at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos smashed the Sharkies at Toyota Stadium last week with a  34-16 win on Friday night. The Raiders were seiged at Canberra stadium after hammering the Cowboys for 20 minutes to get obliterated in the last 5 minutes of the match.

The 56-0 Drumming of the Raiders over the Broncos is but a distant memory for the Maroon and Yellow fans. The Broncos managed to win 20-6 in Round 2 of the completion in 2011, this was the start of their 7 game winning streak, and the start of the Raiders 8 game losing streak. Both teams have a point to prove here, who will take the cherries?

At Suncorp Stadium the Broncos have a healthy record with 8 wins and 4 losses. The Raiders did win the last time they travelled here though, this was round 26 last year when they had a massive roll into the finals in a 18-16 win.

Broncos Preview – WLLLW

The Broncos were able to snap a 3 game losing streak against bottom dwellers Cronulla Sharks last week. This is a completely different team though, with their 5 marquee players out for Origin duties, as well as a 6th (Hodges) for injury duties…. They must have been part of Hodges’ contract because he is doing well to stay off the park.

So the Broncos have another stab at a bottom dwelling team as the Raiders still sitting at last place on the ladder. But will someone look at this line up! Dale Copley, Shea Moylan, Kurt Baptise…. Who are these people? Jack Reed at Lock! They are struggling….. what’s that noise?? It sounds like…. No it couldn’t be…. Tony Carrol to make a return this week!!!!….. no I don’t think that will be happening this week, Carrol has hung up the boots for good this time, and its unfortunate for Bronco’s supporters, look at that line up.

Raiders Preview – LLWWL

Hold on to your tickets Broncos fans, the Raiders aren’t doing much better, with an unfortunate groin injury ruling out wonder boy Terry Campese last week. Dugan also suffered an ankle injury, though he would have been out for Origin anyway. If these two players were able to stay on the park against the Cowboys I have no doubt they would have won. This being said they did well to hold on to the lead for 75 minutes, and this week with the same line up + a couple of bench players they are in a good position to upset the Broncos at home.

One of my favourite players in the competition is Shaun Fensom. Last week he racked up an amazing 58 tackles. He also managed 13 Hit Ups and an offload, great stats for a young Front Row/ Lock.

Prediction

I think the Raiders learned their lesson last week and should be able to hold off the non-existent Bronco’s attack in this one. The Raiders still have points in them with Sam Williams at half back, Blake Ferguson at Centre and Reece Robinson on the wing. If I were to predict a score I would say 22-10, this means a 1-12 win for the Raiders.

Best Bets

Some agencies slightly favour the Raiders in this one, so for even odds head to Centrebet @ $1.91. The 1-12 is paying a healthy $3.10.
