How to Play Roulette on Smartphones and Tablets

We live in an era where the number of in-use mobile phones across the world is greater than the global population, according to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Download the Royal Vegas Casino AppSo it would be remiss of Internet casinos not to take full advantage of such a widespread and interactive platform.

Royal Vegas is our top endorsed casino for all mobile roulette needs. It owns a dedicated market app*, legally available in Australia, which can be easily installed on any smartphone or tablet device by tapping the ‘Get My App’ image – within this app we can play European Roulette Gold.

*The app is titled Regal Vegas in all app stores for marketing purposes. This is the correct application to install, as once downloaded, we have the option to play for practice cash within the Regal Vegas interface, or for real money within the Royal Vegas interface.

Furthermore, all the gambling sites we recommend for Australians offer fully-fledged instant-play mobile casinos, accessible directly from our Web-browsers, without the need to download any software (shown in the below images).

All our recommended sites are compatible with over 2000 different phones and tablets, including Android, Apple, Blackberry, Windows and many other devices. Each mobile interface has a clean design and is easy to navigate through. Tap any of our casino links and you will be taken to the mobile casino of your choice. Sign up directly on your Samsung, iPad or any other mobile or tab, and use the one account across all your gaming platforms. Deposit AUD cash and withdraw directly from your device. You can also create Web apps which perform the same tasks as downloaded apps, just without taking up much memory space (these Web apps are created via browser settings and pop up on your homescreen – the URL tool-bar is done away with when you open the app).

Internet Casino Banking Security

Is playing roulette on the Internet for real money safe? If you follow our guidelines and play with respected and licensed casinos, it is completely secure and legal.

When choosing a casino to play roulette for actual Australian money, we need a reliable website with a solid reputation, and secure and efficient deposit and withdrawal options. Those who we advise to play with take financial security and personal details seriously, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. With countless phony and illegitimate sites out there which conspire to take our cash, it pays to be cautious. The digital encryption technology used to secure our transactions for all of the above sites (128-bit Secure Socket Layer) is the same used by national and international banks, and ensures no-one can read or modify the data we provide. Additionally, the outcomes for roulette and other games are reviewed by auditors to confirm the Random Number Generators do in fact produce random results.

What Banking Methods Can Australians Use to Play Roulette?

Available options include credit and debit cards (MasterCard, VISA, Postepay, JCB), which are the most effective and swiftest means to deposit and withdraw cash, our very own POLi payments, direct bank transfers, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, INSTADEBIT, and even cheques for withdrawals.

Conventional Online Game-Play

Online Roulette Game-PlayTraditional online roulette games work in the same manner as their land-based counterparts, with a wheel, a ball, and a corresponding betting layout, but with the use of trusted and tested Random Number Generators to determine random and fair results. The ball rolls around the outer rim of the wheel, before landing in one of 37/38 numbered pockets. The number of pockets on the wheel depends on the type of roulette being played. In American Roulette, there are 38 pockets: 0, 00, and 1-36. European Roulette features 37 pockets, with the double zero being eliminated from the game.

Players place their bets before the ball is spun on the table layout, which is displayed in a clear and easy to understand design on our screens. ‘No more bets’ is signalled as the ball begins to slow, and once it comes to rest in a pocket, the winning number and colour is announced, losing bets are collected and winning bets are paid out. Live Dealer Game-Play for Australians

Now, with the new and improved live dealer format for roulette, we get to experience the convenience of Web-based roulette, and the authenticity of brick-and-mortar game-play; the best of both worlds. The outcomes of spins can now be influenced by real human croupiers over the Internet. We have the ability to watch these live dealers regulate the game, and spin an actual wheel with a real ball via high quality video feeds, while we place our bets over the computer on the traditional simulated roulette layout. This eliminates the often present “can online casinos cheat”, or “are Web casinos rigged” questions. When you can genuinely view sexy dealers in control of the game, and adjudicators roaming in the background to oversee all the action, questions of that nature are no longer valid, while the entire game-play offers that unique adrenaline rush we get from the possibility of success.

Choose from single and multi-player formats within the live casino, and play multiple tables at once. Visit our live dealer page for further information about this popular and constantly improving format of interactive casino gambling.

Roulette Games and Variety at Web-Based Casinos

Each casino we recommend offers both the American and European format to its players, with all the standard rules and correct odds. We advise playing the European version, which is currently the most popular version of the game on the Internet, due to the lower house edge. To the informed gambler, there is no other choice. Other enticing games offered across the network of casinos we recommend include:

French Roulette; includes player friendly rules such as la partage and en prison, as well as additional and favourable wagers known as ‘call bets’.

Gold Series Roulette; where higher betting limits, enhanced graphics and sounds, and the thoroughly realistic simulation of the wheel and table make the overall gaming experience a pleasure to partake.

Multi-Wheel and Multi-Player Roulette; spin up to eight wheels at once and increase your chances of hitting and winning your numbers and selected wagers (multi-wheel). Play the European game with other players and interact with them via a live chat box, and choose from either a 20, 40 or 60-second interval between spins (multi-player).

Live Dealer Roulette; as mentioned above, real human dealers controlling our game as we follow the action via a live streaming video on our screens, and place bets in the same manner we would with regular online roulette.

Roulette Royale; a variant with a progressive jackpot which can creep in to AUD hundreds of thousands. Place the required side-bet and if any number hits with minimum bets.

The Best Odds for the Game are on the Internet

The odds in roulette vary depending on the type of game in which you are playing. Bets are designed to pay out at odds fair for a 36-pocket wheel; but the presence of the zero (or zeroes) is what gives the house an advantage. The house holds an edge on every bet of 5.26% in the American style of play, with the exception the ‘First Five’ bet which carries a house edge of 7.89%. European roulette (single-zero) has a house edge of just 2.70% on all bets, and can be reduced even further when the la partage and en prison rules are enforced (explained below).

Bets & Rules on the Net not Found in Australian Casinos

The following rules are easily accessible to Australians via the Net, but are hardly found (if at all) in Australian brick-and-mortar establishments. The la partage and en prison rules which are explained below, are extremely player friendly, so it is not wonder why land-based venues don’t wish to offer such options.

French Call Bets
The following bets are offered specifically in French Roulette, and some European games too. Also known as announced bets, in a live setting the player calls out the desired bet to the dealer who will then set the chips in the proper pattern. Over the Internet, we simply choose our desired call bet and the chips are automatically set up for us.

Les Voisins Du Zero (Neighbours of Zero)
This bet covers 17 numbers which lie between 22 and 25 on the wheel. Nine chips (or multiples thereof) are bet in the following manner: Two chips are placed on the 0, 2, 3 trio; one on the 4/7 split; one on 12/15; one on 18/21; one on 19/22; two on the 25/26/28/29 corner; and one on 32/35.

Jeu Zero (Zero Game)
This wager places four different bets on the numbers closest to 0 on the wheel: 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32 and 15 – one chip on the 0/3 split, one on the 12-15 split, one on 26 straight up; and one on the 32-35 split.

Le Tiers du Cylindre (Thirds of the Wheel)
This bet places six distinct wagers covering the 12 numbers on the wheel which lie between 27 and 33. One chip is placed on each of the following splits: 5/8; 10/11; 13/16; 23/24; 27/30; 33/36. Again, multiples of this bet can be placed (i.e. two chips on each of the above splits).

Orphelins (Orphans)
This bet covers the two areas of the wheel outside of the Tiers or Voisins bets. These numbers are 17, 34, 6, 1, 20, 14, 31 and 9. Five chips (or multiples thereof) are bet: one chip is placed straight-up on 1, and one chip on each of the following splits: 6/9; 14/17; 17/20 and 31/34.

Final Bets
Final bets are those placed on every number which ends in the same digit. For instance, a Final Five bet would cover the numbers 5, 15, 25 and 35. If you wagered on a Final Seven, you would only play three numbers: 7, 17, and 27.

La Partage and En Prison Rules
In many online European roulette games (and all French games), the player-friendly rules of la partage (sharing) and en prison (in prison) are used. Applicable to only the 50/50 wagers (red-black, odd-even, high-low), if you place a bet on any of those wagers and the ball lands on zero, the la partage rule states you lose only half of your stake, recouping the other half. You may also have the option to play the en prison rule, where your bet is ‘imprisoned’ for the very next spin, and returned without any winnings if that next spin successfully matches your bet. If it loses however, the bet is forfeited. If the next spin also results in a zero, rules vary on what happens to the wager; it may be deemed a win, loss, la partage or en prison. Both the En Prison rule and the La Partage rule shrink the casino’s edge in half, from 2.70% to 1.35%
