We should mention that there are a couple different kinds of products sold under the name of roulette calculators. There are plenty of simple calculators out there that let you know the genuine mathematical probability of certain results happening. They may even help you with some of the more complex math that comes up when you make a number of different bets at the same time. These products aren’t going to revolutionize your game, but if you’re new to the game, then you might enjoy reminders of exactly how likely you are to win on any given spin, as well as what the potential payouts are at all times.
But we’re really interested in the other kind of roulette calculator. These programs claim that they can guarantee you wins over online casinos if you use them, and that they’ll work at virtually any casino site. These products are sold on sites that feature testimonials from winning gamblers and videos that show the calculators in action. In short, they’re said to be the quickest path to beating online roulette, a foolproof way to beat the casino.
The exactly wording and terminology used at these sites will vary, but the general idea is the same. One popular calculator, for instance, claims that they’ve cracked the “luck algorithm” that online casinos use to generate the results of every spin. This is essentially another name for the random number generator used by Internet casinos to determine the result of each spin, as well as every other result in other games.
According to these sites, these random number generators can be simulated and therefore predicted. It’s an interesting idea: if a computer uses a predictable pattern, after all, there should be a way to break through that pattern and know what numbers are coming before they actually appear. Gamblers with this inside information can then place bets appropriately, winning big without actually cheating.
Despite what sites like the one we’ve described may say, a simple computer program won’t allow you to beat a Web casino. There are several obvious problems with this idea, any one of which should help you realize that this isn’t possible.
Look at the claim of being able to predict a random number generator. As with many bogus claims, there’s a hint of fact in this as the basis for a much bigger lie. At the center of all RNGs, there’s what’s known as a pseudo-RNG — a computer program that spits out a constant stream of seed numbers. These machines can be very good at producing a huge range of numbers, but since they are programmed with an algorithm, there is a pattern here. With enough work, someone could eventually learn to know what seed number was coming next…at least in theory.
But that’s not all that goes into an RNG. Once the seed number is produced, the RNG will then use a variety of external sources to generate extra data with which to modify the seed. That could be based on microscopic changes in atmospheric pressure or temperature, the mouse movements of all players on the casino site at that time, or anything else that’s essentially random and completely unpredictable. This makes it impossible to know what results are coming during an Internet roulette game, providing truly random results.
Of course, there’s another obvious problem: if these roulette calculators were so powerful, how would any online casino stay in business? Even a handful of players using them would win so much money that they would quickly force casino operators to remove the game or shut down completely. And yet, it seems as though the online gaming industry is moving along just fine even with these calculators on the market.
As with any roulette system, there’s no reason why you should have to pay for any of this information, and anyone trying to sell you a “can’t lose” system is just out to make a quick buck for themselves. After all, if they had a system that worked so well, they could make a lot more money by keeping it a secret and simply using it themselves.
Many of these sites also talk about how their programs take advantage of the fact that the casinos are cheating their customers, saying that they take advantage of the patterns used to cheat people to instead turn luck in your favor. These accusations tend to sound convincing due to the handful of cases in which gambling sites really have cheated players in the past.
But major casino sites like Royal Vegas – and even the vast majority of sites that we don’t recommend are on the level. They make their money based on the same mathematical advantages that are held by land-based casinos. There’s no reason to cheat players: in fact, casinos that try to do so are found out, blacklisted, and end up going out of business. Casino sites aren’t out to cheat their players, and they don’t leave security vulnerabilities for players to take advantage of, either.
In the end, if you want to win at online roulette, your best bet is to take advantage of the bonus offers, promotions, and loyalty programs. While the house may always have the edge in roulette, these benefits can give you the extra cash you need to overcome that advantage – something a roulette calculator will never do.
