The St. George Illawarra Dragons have been installed as $1.80 favourites by leading online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au to win the 2012 Charity Shield at ANZ Stadium on Saturday, 18 February, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs opened as $2.00 outsiders following today’s launch.
“We will learn a bit about the Rabbitohs, especially about their new halfback, from their trial match against Warrington in late January but on paper the Dragons just shade the Bunnies right now so they’ve been installed as narrow favourites,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes.
“Both teams have new head coaches and exciting back lines so hopefully they have attacking game plans and plenty of points will be scored.”
In NRL Premiership betting, the Dragons are on the fourth line of betting at $12 with Rabbitohs close behind at $15. The Wests Tigers, Manly Sea Eagles and Newcastle Knights are the equal $8.00 favourites.
