Geoff Toovey and his Manly Sea Eagles will have a better season than Des Hasler and the Canterbury Bulldogs – that’s the opinion of punters with leading online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
Toovey has firmed from $1.60 into $1.55 to lead his team to a higher finish in 2012 than his old boss, who is the outsider in the market at $2.40.
“Both sides have drifted in Premiership betting but the punters think Manly will have the wood over the Dogs this year despite Des Hasler taking charge,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
“We will know a lot about both sides over the next few weeks so there could be plenty of fluctuation in this market early on.”
(prices in brackets from 5 February)
$1.55 Geoff Toovey/Manly Sea Eagles (in from $1.60)
$2.40 Des Hasler/Canterbury Bulldogs (steady)
