The Dragons have continued their impressive form all throughout the season with just one loss coming way back in round 2 of the competition. Their most recent victim was the Bulldogs in what was probably the most impressive match of 2011 in a 15-10 Victory that went down to the wire. Once again I would like to remind tipsters that they not only won all their pre-season trial matches but also the World Club challenge. These guys are seriously good.
The Tigers have been extremely inconsistent with a record of LWLLWLW over the last 7 Rounds. A bit of this can be accounted to injuries, but they have had enough time for their second string players to get used to playing in the top grade and should have had a couple of wins. Two of their disappointing losses were against the Rabbitohs and the Titans, teams that they really should have beaten.
The Dragons have won the last 3 in a row against the Tigers, including last year’s Grand Final Qualifier by a single point, 13-12.
Dragons Preview – WWWWW
You can’t fault the Dragons in 2011 at all. Sure they lost one but what team hasn’t? Their points differential is out of this world with 212 for and just 96 against. This is a ratio of just over 220%!!! This means that they have been winning a lot and winning them comfortably. Only one of their last 6 matches was won by 1-12 and this was against the Bulldogs in their gutsiest performance of the season. Tigers Fans watch out because here come the might Dragons.
The only negative coming into this match is the fact the Dragons have more players backing up from Origin than any other, with 7 players coming back from the Origin squads.
Tigers Preview – LLWLW
The Tigers are one of just a few teams that don’t have players backing up from Origin duties. There was really only 2 players in contention with Lawrence and Tuqiri out due to injury, and that is Back Rowers Heighington and Dwyer. Unfortunately for these two the Back Row is the hardest position to crack for the Blues as there are so many contestants, and with Sticky favouring the Dragons it leaves little room for other teams to represent.
All that aside the Tigers have been very inconsistent and are not a threat in 2011. Tim Sheens has some strange selections in his line up. He has a Half Back playing in the centres and a winger on the bench (Ryan).
Even if the Dragons are upset in this one I will not care. Unless they lose 4 in a row I will not tip against them as their record should indicate. They are the best team in the World and they don’t look like they are slowing down at all. If anything they are improving. Dragons will win by 13+.
The Dragons are $1.48! This is ridiculous! Every week their odds seem to be at around $1.50 and I can’t understand why!? None the less this makes for easy cash. Once again Rugby Leagues favourite online betting agency Centrebet has the best odds and is paying the $1.48 for the H2H. 13+ through the same mob is $2.69.
