Reds v Waratahs, Suncorp Stadium, Saturday April 29, 7:45pm AEST
With the Australian Conference extremely tight, this clash between the Reds and Waratahs carries even more importance. Add to the mix the intense rivalry between the two states and it is shaping up to be the match of the Round. Rugby in Australia is in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons especially after the Waratahs shock loss to the Kings in Round Nine. They will be looking to right plenty of wrongs this week against the Reds and currently stand at $2.15 with William Hill. The Reds are priced as favourites to win this match at $1.70. They come into the game fresh from the bye and a win over the Kings the week before. Neither side has shown any real consistency with form over the season so far with both franchises is dire need of win this weekend.
Bet of the Match: Waratahs to Win by 1-12 points at $3.10
Kings v Rebels, Nelson Bay Stadium, Port Elizabeth, Sunday April 30, 3:30am AEST
The Rebels will take heart from their draw with the Sharks in Round Nine. A match in which thy achieved a significant milestone, the first time they have not lost in South Africa. They will need that confidence boost when they travel down the coast to take on the Kings. With the home side returning from a tour of Australia, the Rebels have the chance to claim a first win against a potentially tired squad from tough matches and travelling time. Indeed, they are favourites to do so priced at $1.60 with William Hill. Despite the fatigue, the Kings won’t be a pushover as they showed in Sydney as they beat the Waratahs in a thrilling comeback win. The home side will be looking to further their case to stay in Super Rugby next year and while they have only won two games this season, they have been extremely competitive in all of their matches on their tour of Australia.
Bet of the Match: Rebels to Win by 1-12 points at $2.70
Brumbies v Blues. GIO Stadium, Sunday April 30, 4:05pm AEST
Although the Brumbies sit at the top of the Australian Conference, they have lost two straight matches heading into Round Ten. That not the ideal form for welcoming the Blues to Canberra. Losses to the Rebels and then the Hurricanes has seen the Brumbies’ season stutter just as they appeared to be finding form. Given that the Brumbies top their Conference and the Blues are bottom of theirs you would expect the home side to be favourites. Yet despite the standings both sides have 17 points to their names and highlights the flaws of the Conference system. The Brumbies are priced as underdogs at $2.40. The Blues come into this match after a bye and an agonisingly close loss to the Hurricanes. That will give them plenty of confidence that they can match their price of $1.57 with William Hill. The Blues once again this year have shown plenty of promise but have struggled to beat their Conference rivals.
