Weekend Sports Betting – May 14-15, 2010

Thu, May 13, 1:52pm by Kevin Pitstock

Outside of the regular Australian sports being played this weekend like the NRL round 10 action, there are a few sports you might be interested in betting on.

Golf Betting – Valero Texas Open & Open Cala Mallorca

There are two golf tournaments being played this weekend. Betting markets are now open for the Valero Texas Open and the Open Cala Mallorca.

Australian golf player Adam Scott is playing in the Valero Texas Open. Sportsbet have Scott paying $21.00 to take down the title.

The favourite in the betting markets on the Valero Texas Open is South African Ernie Els who you can have a punt on at $12.00.

The favourite of the Open Cala Mallorca is Soren Hansen at $13.00.

FA Cup Betting 2010 – Football Betting

Chelsea vs Portsmouth Betting

The FA Cup final between Chelsea and Portsmouth will be played this weekend as well. As many of you know, this is the biggest cup competition in the UK.

These two teams have had a completely different season to each other. Chelsea claimed the EPL title last weekend with an 8-0 drubbing of Wigan.

Portsmouth were relegated after being stripped of premiership points for going into receivership. Their poor performances both on and off the field has landed them back in the Coca-Cola Championship. Surprisingly they have managed to make it to the 2010 FA Cup final.

Chelsea will be much too strong in this game and will be victorious to claim the double. I’m not just saying that because I’m a fan, but they a the best team in the English Premier League and Portsmouth were the worst.

Sportsbet have tight odds of $1.20 for Chelsea to win the 2010 FA Cup at Wembley. If you fancy a draw you can get on at $6.50. The unlikely result of a Portsmouth win is paying $13.00.

Monaca F1 Grand Prix 2010 Betting

Australia’s own Mark webber will be looking to win two races in a row the weekend when the F1 teams arrive in beautiful Monaco. I’m jealous of a couple of friends going there, but that aside there is plenty of betting action going on.

Mark Webber is the second favourite behind his team mate Sebastien Vettel. Webber is paying $4.25 for victory, $1.80 for a top 3 finish and $1.25 for a top 6 finish. If you think he can claim pole position get on at $4.00.

Sebastien Vettel who is the other Team Redbull member is the favourite for the F1 Monaco Grand Prix of 2010 and is paying $2.88 on Sportsbet.

That wraps up the sporting action outside of Australia this weekend. Keep in mind that the 2010 French Open and the 2010 Football World Cup are both coming up soon.
